Symphotrichum puniceum. This is the shade-tolerant, local version of the popular New England Aster. It prefers med-wet to wet soil and full sun to partial shade, grows up to 7’ tall. Blooms August-October. Found in the northeastern 2/3 of MN along woodland edges and in wet meadows. Seed origin St. Louis Co.
